Our commitment to people & the environment

We care deeply about the places where we work and the people we work with. For us, creating social value means doing the right thing, reducing our environmental impact, supporting our team, and giving back to local communities.

Looking after the environment

We do our best to make flying and our operations as efficient as possible. Some of the steps we take include:

We’re also looking ahead, exploring renewable energy, hybrid or full electric vehicles, and ways to further cut our carbon footprint over time.

Supporting communities

We believe in giving back. Everyone on our team is encouraged to spend a couple of days each year volunteering with local projects, whether it’s helping with community clean ups or supporting environmental initiatives. We also share our skills with local groups and look for small, practical ways to make a positive difference.

We’re also proud to sponsor the Fife Flyers, who are the oldest professional ice hockey team in the UK and have played at Fife Ice Arena in Kirkcaldy since they were established in 1938. The Flyers play in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) and compete against other teams across the UK.

Through the “Flyers in the Community” initiative, they aim to develop links with schools and community groups throughout Fife to encourage active participation in healthy eating, exercise and sport, and broaden the appeal of ice hockey and the Fife Flyers. There are junior clubs for the under 10s/12s/14s/16s and 19s, as well as the Kirkcaldy Kestrels who play in the Scottish National League which is the league below the EIHL.

Always improving

We know we’re not perfect, but we are committed to learning and improving year by year. By keeping track of how we’re doing and working with our suppliers and customers, we aim to run Skyhook in a way that benefits not just our business, but also the communities and environments around us.

We believe small actions add up to big changes.
