Herbert joined skyhook in 2015 and has made a huge impact. A very experienced pilot, Herbert rotates between Scotland and Greenland flying the AS350B3 in both countries. Herbert started flying in 2002 having moved into aviation from a paramedic’s background. During Herbert’s career he has been involved in Heli skiing, lime spraying, medical evacuation, exploration and of course slinging work.
Gunther joined skyhook in 2015 after having spent a substantial amount of time as captain of twin engine helicopters in Africa. Gunther also works in Greenland flying the AS350B3 and is an experienced instructor. Gunther lives on his farm in Austria with his wife and young son.
Andy KnightManaging Director
Andy has over the past 30 years built TSL Contractors Ltd into a leading West Coast Construction Business. He has had an interest in helicopters since pouring concrete for a project on the Isle of Staffa which was all batched by hand and delivered by Dollar Helicopters (managed by Jock Simpson and piloted by Steve Graham). Andy gained his pilot’s licence in 1998 and has since owned several light helicopters.

Accumulated 4500 hours. His knowledge and experience in the agricultural crop spraying sector makes him the most qualified pilot in his field in Britain.

Murray GrahamField Sales and Operations Manager
Murray was our first ground crew for Skyhook having been involved in aviation from a young age, he has ground crewed both for the lifting helicopter and as a mixer loader for bracken spraying. Murray recently achieved his commercial pilots license and will be moving into flying in the next few years alongside his permanent role as Field Sales and Operations Manager
With more than 13,000 hours of accident free flight time Steve is one of the UK’s most experienced pilots having operated not only in the demanding utility market but also as an air ambulance pilot and currently in the VIP environment. The experience Steve brings has been instrumental in helping to guide Skyhook through our early development towards becoming the safe efficient operator we are today.
Lewis Harropground crew
Lewis joined skyhook as ground crew in 2016. Lewis is a qualified rope access technician and so has extensive knowledge and experience with rigging and lifting. Lewis is also a member of the Glen Coe mountain Rescue team and so is able to provide first aid cover for the team.

Jock SimpsonBusiness Development and Aviation Consultant
Jock is a New Zealand citizen who has made Scotland his adopted home. He has been involved in the helicopter sector for approximately 45 years and has considerable experience of the utility helicopter mobilisation. Jock, a founder member of Dollar Helicopters, an ex Director responsible for Forestry and lifting operations in UK and also managed Seismic exploration operations in the Middle East and South America. He more recently has undertaken Safety audits of helicopter operations globally for the Oil Industry, Aviation QC for Perenco on their seismic operations in Turkey, and for Statoil in Iran.
